The first time I ever met Izzy was in cage 1 with Jaylen for semi private hitting, we saw each other almost weekly for those hitting sessions. I was scared going into it for the first time because I knew nobody (and wasn’t very good either), but she greeted me and we laughed the entire time. Every time Jaylen would go live on TikTok we would commentate and always engage with the audience, who we named “J squad”! The last time I ever saw Izzy was when I was walking into Pro X to hit and she was in line for ground balls on the field. When she saw me her face lit up with a smile and she got so excited and yelled “Hi Lucy” from all the way across the lobby! She always made everyone feel loved and appreciated, no matter how well she knew them. We talked for a minute before parting ways for the last time. I’m glad that I saw her that day, because she was happy and we were at softball, and that’s how we were always together. I have so many memories with her that I miss, like when we lifted together many times a week during academy last year and would also joke with each other about who was stronger. I miss those lifting session with her, Reese, OJ, and I and how we would always joke with Reid. And I always loved it when we would warm up pitchers before live AB during academy! One time we were next to each other in the same cage and we were talking about what type of catchers we were. I said I was a “framing” catcher, then we proceeded to talk about all the things we liked and didn’t like about catching. But Izzy said she liked everything about it of course. One of my favorite memories of Izzy is when we met up to hit with each other, and after we were done she said she was on her way to “second dinner”. I miss her so much but I am so grateful that I got know her and be someone who knew her kindness and light!
