I’ve known Izzy (and Lucy) since we were babies. My mom was their nanny and we grew closer and closer every day, in fact were so close we called each other sisters. One of my oldest memories with Izzy is when we were about five and we were making our plans for the future; we said we wanted to be vets and singers who were roommates and would have 5 dogs and 5 cats. Some of our favorite games to play at that time were “house”, and “princesses/dressing up”. We loved spending time in my room, the interview with Izzy was actually in my room! If you look closely you can see me and Lucy in the back round here and there. I remember when I started pre-school I would always just think about what I would do with Izzy and Lucy when I got home. Soon enough my mom stopped nannying Izzy and Lucy and my life was really off for a while. Even though we didn’t see each other as often as we used to we stayed in touch. When me and Izzy were eight we joined a basketball team (my dad was the coach). It was a good chance to reconnect with her and I am grateful that we found something to do together. After we left basketball we saw each other less, mostly seeing each other for birthday parties and holiday sleepovers, those are some of my most vivid memories with her. When I heard that she had passed I was really, really sad but thankfully my mom is also a photographer and has hundreds of pictures, videos, and collages of us, those really helped through my grief. Izzy was a very important person in my life and I hope she knows I will always love her and she will always be my little sister.
